VooV Experience at a glance

VooV remains active at Putlitz, carrying a lineage that reaches back to 1991 and one of Europe’s earliest Goa-trance festival traditions. VooV Experience is one of the longest-running dedicated Goa/Psytrance festival traditions in Europe. Based in northern Germany and now held near Putlitz, the event combines a focused psychedelic dance programme with elaborate stage production, visual art and a multi-day camping environment.

Its unusually early 1991 origin places it close to the formation of the European Goa-party network itself.

How VooV Experience evolved

VooV began in 1991 and developed from the early German Goa underground into a large recurring open-air gathering. Across changing sites, production teams and naming conventions, the VooV identity remained closely associated with psychedelic trance instead of becoming a generic dance festival. The current VooV Experience organisation dates its lineage directly to 1991 and continues the event at Putlitz.

Music, programming & dancefloors

Goa Trance and Psytrance are the core identities. Contemporary editions also include Progressive Psytrance and other modern psychedelic forms, but the historical Goa lineage is fundamental to the festival’s significance.

Role in psytrance festival culture

VooV is historically significant because it helped establish the dedicated Goa-festival model in Europe before Psytrance had become a globally organised festival circuit. Its longevity gives it a direct line from early-1990s German Goa culture to contemporary psychedelic production and community practice.
