About

Made for people who love psytrance.

ViralFlowMusic.com is a place to get lost in the music — artists, labels, releases, festivals, scenes, subgenres and the stories that connect them.

Why this site exists

I wanted somewhere that made it easy to wander through psytrance without already knowing exactly what to look for. You might arrive because of one artist and end up reading about a label, a festival on the other side of the world, or a subgenre you had never heard of before. That kind of wandering is the whole idea.

Psytrance has a huge history, but a lot of it is scattered across old websites, record sleeves, forgotten interviews, label pages, festival archives and bits of information that can be surprisingly hard to track down. Viral Flow Music brings as much of that as possible together in a way that is enjoyable to explore.

A labour of love

This site is made by someone who genuinely loves the music. I spend far too much time chasing down old releases, figuring out where artists came from, reading about scenes in different countries and trying to understand how one corner of psytrance connects to another.

I try to get things right, and I prefer official artist, label and festival sources whenever they are available. But this is still an independent site made by a Smurf, so mistakes can happen. If you spot one, I would much rather hear about it than leave it sitting there.

Listen, read, wander

The point is not to tell anyone what they should like. It is to give curious people more ways into the music. Follow an artist. Dig through a label. See what was happening in a particular country. Find an old release. Discover something completely unexpected.

The music players and external links are there so you can go straight from reading about something to actually hearing it and exploring further.

Independent

ViralFlowMusic.com is not officially connected with the artists, labels, festivals or music platforms featured here. They all remain very much their own thing, and any names, logos, artwork or other material belonging to them remains theirs.

If something is wrong, missing, or you simply want to get in touch, use the contact page. If you need to raise a copyright or removal issue, there is also a Copyright & Takedown Requests page.

Who made it?

Viral Flow Music was made with love by Smurf — a psytrance-loving space monkey with a habit of disappearing down musical rabbit holes long after sensible people have gone to bed.

If you do the same, you are probably in the right place.
