Magic Numbers, released in 2007, is one of 1200 Micrograms' most tightly organised concept albums. The seven tracks move literally from One through Seven, with subtitles such as Numberstruck, God Of Rock, Double Helix and Numbers Are Alive turning the counting sequence into a playful framework for the record.
The final piece is especially unusual: Seven stretches far beyond the length of a standard psytrance track, giving the album an exaggerated closing statement. Coming after the remix collection, Magic Numbers also restored the group's original-album pattern—one central idea, explored from beginning to end—rather than treating the record as a loose set of club tracks.
