Release context

Heroes Of The Imagination is the second 1200 Micrograms album and one of the clearest examples of the group's fondness for strong concepts. Released in 2003, each track is tied to a figure associated with science, invention or altered consciousness, including Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo, Faraday, Einstein, Babbage, Albert Hofmann, Crick and Watson, and Tim Berners-Lee.

That structure turned the album into more than a sequel to the self-titled debut. The first record had been organised around psychoactive substances; Heroes Of The Imagination kept the thematic approach but shifted the focus toward people and ideas that changed how humans understand or experience the world. The concept became part of 1200 Micrograms' identity as much as the music itself.
