Biography
Ritmo is the psytrance project of Israeli producer Dubi Dagan. After early interests in guitar, metal and club DJing, Dagan moved into production and joined the IONO Music network in 2007. His debut album Disharmonic Silence followed in 2008 and established a style centred on clean progressive groove, melodic control and precise psychedelic sound design.
The project developed steadily through the 2010s, with the 2016 album Adventures expanding Ritmo’s collaboration network to artists including Ace Ventura, Astrix, Liquid Soul, Gaudium and others. Dagan also maintained separate identities such as Ritree and the collaborative project Arctic, allowing more psychedelic or industrial directions to exist without blurring the Ritmo catalogue.
Roots in 2023 became the third major studio album and introduced more organic and nature-derived textures into the familiar progressive framework. Ritmo remains active in 2026, continuing to tour internationally as one of the durable artists of the post-2000s Progressive Psytrance generation.
Origins of Ritmo
Dubi Dagan moved from DJ and sound-engineering work into Psytrance production before joining IONO Music in 2007. That relationship provided the first major platform for Ritmo.
Early career
Disharmonic Silence in 2008 established the project’s album identity and placed Ritmo within the rising Israeli-European Progressive Psytrance network.
How the career developed
Adventures in 2016 broadened the collaboration network substantially, while Roots in 2023 added more organic sound sources to the established progressive language. Ritree and Arctic remain separate projects rather than alternate names for Ritmo.
Ritmo sound
Ritmo makes Progressive Psytrance built around persistent groove, melodic hooks, clear rhythmic architecture and polished psychedelic detail. Related side projects can move faster or more industrial without redefining the core Ritmo sound.
Place in psytrance history
Ritmo is an important representative of the late-2000s and 2010s progressive generation that followed earlier artists such as Atmos, Vibrasphere and FREq and brought the style deeper into the global festival circuit.
Connections and influence
Key connections include IONO Music, Iboga, Ace Ventura, Liquid Soul, Astrix, Sphera and Gaudium. These relationships place Ritmo at the centre of the modern progressive Psytrance network.
Ritmo today
Ritmo remains active in 2026 with ongoing international festival and touring activity.
