Biography

Suntree is the progressive psytrance project of Israeli producer Alon Brillant. He began producing in 2003 and developed a sound that favours melody, atmosphere and emotional pacing over the more aggressive full-on formulas that dominated much of Israeli psytrance in the same period. His music is built around warm low end, patient arrangements and a strong sense of tonal movement.

The project became established through releases on IONO Music, including the Private Guide EP in 2008 and the album Inside in 2009. Later work such as The Future and the remix collection Outside broadened the catalogue while keeping its melodic identity intact. Over time Brillant also became increasingly interested in analogue equipment and the physical character of hardware sound, an approach that reinforced the organic feel of his progressive production.

Suntree's activity slowed for a period as Brillant focused more heavily on family life, but the project returned with renewed momentum in the mid-2020s. By 2026 he was again presenting new music, including the planned Lotus EP, instead of functioning only as a older releases. Suntree therefore occupies an interesting position in progressive psytrance: a long-running project whose sound remained recognisable even across substantial gaps in release activity.
