Biography

U-Recken is the psytrance project of Israeli producer Yaniv Ben Ari, publicly established in 2006. The debut album Aquatic Serenade arrived that year through Dooflex and introduced a melodic, emotionally charged form of Psytrance that remained central to the project as it developed.

Deeper Into Man followed in 2008, while a later relationship with Dacru Records produced albums including A Light at the End of the World, Flames of Equilibrium and Nothing Is Sacred. Across that period U-Recken moved comfortably through melodic Psytrance and Full-On without becoming locked into one narrow formula.

In 2026 Ben Ari marked twenty years of U-Recken by reclaiming and reissuing substantial parts of the catalogue through a new artist-controlled label phase and by announcing a sixth studio album. New music such as Neverend confirms that this is an active continuation, while the reissues should remain clearly separated from the original release chronology.

Origins of U-Recken

U-Recken’s public history begins in 2006, although Yaniv Ben Ari had already attracted label attention before the first album. The project was conceived as a solo melodic Psytrance identity.

Early career

Aquatic Serenade in 2006 and Deeper Into Man in 2008 established the early album catalogue and introduced the project’s combination of psychedelic drive and strong melodic writing.

How the career developed

The Dacru period produced several major albums through the 2010s. In 2026 Ben Ari moved into a new artist-controlled phase, reissuing older work while preparing a sixth studio album and releasing new material.

U-Recken sound

U-Recken sits in Psytrance with a strong melodic and Full-On strand. Progressive terminology appears around some older catalogue metadata, but it should not be used to rewrite the project wholesale as Progressive Psytrance.

Place in psytrance history

U-Recken is a long-running representative of Israeli melodic Psytrance, connecting the mid-2000s Dooflex scene, the international Dacru network and a newer artist-controlled catalogue phase.

Connections and influence

Important connections include Dooflex, Dacru, Zen Mechanics, Domestic and the project’s newer label infrastructure. Collaborations remain separate from the solo identity.

U-Recken today

U-Recken is highly active in 2026, with new releases, touring, reissues and a sixth studio album announced for the project’s twentieth anniversary period.
