*Trancelucid* followed in 2008 and continued Hilight Tribe’s run of self-contained studio albums built around the group’s live-minded version of psychedelic trance. The title fits a catalogue increasingly comfortable with spiritual and psychedelic imagery without losing sight of the dancefloor setting.
Rather than marking a sharp change, the album shows continuity. Hilight Tribe had already spent close to a decade refining the relationship between hand-played rhythm, melodic instrumentation and electronic production, and *Trancelucid* belongs to that mature phase of the project.
