Release context
*Temple Of Light* was released in 2016 after a substantial gap from Hilight Tribe’s earlier studio albums. By then the group’s natural-trance identity was long established, which gives the record the feel of a return to the album format rather than a first statement of intent.
The gap is part of the context. Hilight Tribe had remained active as a live act, so the album did not represent a comeback from inactivity; instead it gathered a later stage of the group’s musical language into a new full-length release.
