Fractalfest at a glance
Fractalfest is a scene-led New England psychedelic gathering organised by Fractaltribe. It combines Psytrance with live and electronic music, immersive decoration, visual art, workshops and community infrastructure. The festival’s scale and independent organisation make it an important North American example of a regional crew building a durable psychedelic gathering.
How Fractalfest evolved
Subsequent editions established the festival as a recurring New England event, with breaks and later returns , not a simple uninterrupted annual sequence.
Music, programming & dancefloors
Psytrance is central, with lineups historically spanning Goa, full-on, forest, progressive and experimental psychedelic music. Adjacent live and electronic styles appear without displacing the festival’s scene identity.
Role in psytrance festival culture
Fractalfest is important to the northeastern United States Psytrance scene because it grew from a regional collective , not a touring commercial festival brand. Its long-form outdoor format, hand-built visual environments and international bookings connect a local community to the wider global circuit.
Place, setting & atmosphere
Wooded/rural New England outdoor sites with camping and site-specific art.
What sets Fractalfest apart
First event in 2012; outdoor festival format from 2013; organised by Fractaltribe; strong visual-art and community-building emphasis; durable New England Psytrance institution.
