Dimension Festival at a glance
Dimension returns to Northland from 5–8 February 2027 with an Origins Edition built around one continuous psychedelic dancefloor. Dimension is a New Zealand outdoor Psytrance gathering based in Northland. The festival was created around long-form psychedelic dance music, camping, visual environments and a smaller community scale , not a mainstream electronic-festival format.
How Dimension Festival evolved
The first Dimension festival was announced for February 2017 as a four-day outdoor psychedelic trance gathering in Northland. The project continued through later editions and developed a long-term festival community, with the organisers presenting a decade-scale lineage by the 2027 cycle.
Music, programming & dancefloors
Psytrance is the core identity, with progressive, full-on, forest and other psychedelic styles appearing across the programme. The festival also provides space for local New Zealand artists and crews.
Role in psytrance festival culture
Dimension provides a durable Northland anchor for New Zealand Psytrance and is important because the country’s scene is comparatively small and geographically distant from the main European festival circuit. Its continuity supports local artist development as well as international exchange.
Place, setting & atmosphere
Rural Northland outdoor site with riverside/forest character and camping.
