Release context

Mission 2002 Vol. 1 belongs to Trance Control's original duo period and later became part of the 2012 remaster programme that accompanied Alexander Carlborg's revival of the name.

Trance Control began in Gothenburg in 1997 as the duo of cousins Alexander Carlborg and Andreas Wennersköld. Their music belongs more to melodic, euphoric and hard trance than to psytrance, but the project has historical relevance through Wennersköld's later work in Gaudium. After roughly a decade of working together, the original duo period ended. Carlborg revived the name in 2012, using that return both to remaster archival material and to issue new music.
