Release context
Robot.O.Chan is Prometheus's debut album, released on Twisted Records in 2004. Benji Vaughan was already known through Younger Brother and other psychedelic projects, but this record established Prometheus as a distinct solo outlet with its own balance of detailed sound design, humour and high-energy trance.
The Twisted setting is important because the label encouraged artists to stretch beyond narrow genre formulas. Robot.O.Chan reflects that culture: technically precise enough for psychedelic dancefloors, but eccentric enough to feel separate from conventional full-on. It set the tone for a three-album run that would become increasingly ambitious.
