Release context
*Museum Of Consciousness* was released by Twisted Records in 2013 and became Shpongle’s fifth studio album. Simon Posford and Raja Ram again built the record as an immersive listening experience, but with a tighter seven-track programme than several of the earlier releases.
The album sits at an interesting point in the catalogue: Shpongle were already a long-established name, yet the project was still developing new studio material rather than relying on its reputation. It also belongs to the period when the live-band version of Shpongle had become an important part of the project’s public identity, giving the studio work a parallel life on stage.
