Release context
*Carnival Of Peculiarities* was released in 2021 as a three-track Shpongle EP. Its shorter format makes it an unusual entry in a catalogue built mainly around long, carefully sequenced albums, but the music still comes from the same Posford/Raja Ram world of psychedelic sound design and hybrid instrumentation.
The EP works best as a compact later-period release rather than as a substitute for a full album. It shows that Shpongle’s studio identity remained active after *Codex VI*, while giving the project room to present new material without forcing it into another large concept record.
