Release context
Rounders is the debut album by Growling Machines, the collaboration of Wrecked Machines and Pixel. Released through Spun Records in 2007, it expanded the project from individual tracks into a full album and made the duo’s remix-heavy approach part of the record’s identity.
The track list mixes original material with reinterpretations of music by Celldweller, The K.L.F. and Beckers, while Astrix, Pixel and Space Cat also appear through remix work. That combination makes Rounders feel less like a closed studio statement and more like a snapshot of the highly collaborative full-on psytrance network around Spun Records in the mid-2000s.
