Supremacy followed Furious's earlier Vertigo and Insomnia-era work in 2008. Technical Freaks presented it as another major step in Golutvin's catalogue, with collaborations involving Kindzadza and other artists from the Russian psychedelic underground.
Furious was Nikolay Golutvin's experimental psychedelic-trance identity, separate from the more melodic and rave-oriented Crazy Astronaut project. His work under this name became associated with the faster and less conventional edge of Russian psytrance. The albums are best understood as part of a developing personal language rather than a fixed formula, with Golutvin repeatedly changing density, tempo and structure from one record to the next.
