Kosmos Festival

Kosmos Festival at a glance

Kosmos completed its 11th edition in July 2026 and has already announced its next gathering for 8–11 July 2027. Kosmos Festival is a Finnish forest festival near Ristiina that combines Psytrance with the country’s distinctive Suomisaundi lineage, experimental electronic music, workshops, circus, art and community-built environments. Multiple stages allow high-energy psychedelic music to coexist with techno, ambient, live and alternative programming.

How Kosmos Festival evolved

Kosmos was already operating as a three-day forest festival at Ristiina in July 2015. The event developed year by year into a multi-stage gathering, reaching its tenth-anniversary cycle in the mid-2020s. It remains active, with continuing editions and programme development after 2026.

Music, programming & dancefloors

Psytrance is central, but Kosmos is especially important for its Finnish Suomisaundi context. Its psychedelic stages also include Forest, Hi-Tech, progressive, Zenonesque and experimental forms, while other electronic styles occupy their own programme spaces.

Role in psytrance festival culture

Kosmos gives Finland’s idiosyncratic psychedelic scene a large contemporary meeting point. Its significance is not only imported international Psytrance: it also makes room for local Suomisaundi, forest aesthetics and the playful, experimental culture associated with Finnish psychedelic music.
