Biography

Purosurpo is the solo project of Swedish musician Jens Eriksson, co-founder of Derango and Sanaton Records. The name appeared in Sanaton’s catalogue in 2008, followed by a dedicated EP in 2017 and the expanded and reworked Wandering Weirdo Wood Worlds in 2020. The project gives Eriksson room to move beyond conventional Psytrance structures while retaining the warped, organic psychedelia associated with the wider Sanaton circle. Created by Jens Eriksson as a separate solo identity alongside his work with Derango and other Sanaton projects. Early Purosurpo material appeared through Sanaton in 2008, including work connected to the label’s experimental TRiPS period.

A self-titled EP followed in 2017. Wandering Weirdo Wood Worlds revisited and expanded the earlier material in 2020 through Sanaton Records and Oval Harmonique. Purosurpo represents the solo experimental branch of Jens Eriksson’s work and the porous boundary between Forest Psytrance and broader electronic experimentation in the Sanaton scene.

The releases include a 2020 expanded collection and remains available through Sanaton and Oval Harmonique.
