Release context
Wandering Weirdo Wood Worlds revisits Purosurpo material that stretches back to the project’s first Sanaton release in 2008. The 2020 edition was issued jointly by Sanaton Records and Oval Harmonique and was described as a revisited, reimagined and altered version of that earlier journey, mixing older recordings with newer work and presenting the material in high quality for the first time.
That makes the album part archive and part new release. Rather than pretending the older music belongs to 2020, it openly treats the project’s past as raw material for a fresh sequence, giving Jens Eriksson a way to reconnect the experimental Purosurpo catalogue with the later Sanaton/Oval Harmonique network.
