Biography

Gataka is the solo Full-On Psytrance project of Israeli producer Matan Kadosh. Emerging from Afula in the early 2000s, the project ran alongside Kadosh’s work in Sesto Sento and later remained a separate identity from Vini Vici. Its Phonokol-era releases include Drop the Mask (2003), Home Made Madness (2004), In Trance We Trust (2005) and Bless the Mess (2007).

Gataka is a useful marker of the 2000s Israeli Full-On wave and of Matan Kadosh’s career before and alongside Vini Vici. The project preserves a separate solo discography from the collaborative identities that brought Kadosh wider recognition.

The Gataka identity remains separately catalogued and available alongside Kadosh’s continuing work in other projects; activity has been intermittent , not a continuous primary focus.
