Release context

X-Wave is the first major collection under DJ Miko’s post-California-Sunshine project name. Released in 2002, it combined material connected with his melodic Goa background with collaborations involving artists such as Skazi, Safi Connection and GMS, reflecting the increasingly collaborative character of the Israeli full-on scene.

The project gave Miko a way to adapt without simply turning California Sunshine into something it was not. X-Wave therefore marks a distinct early-2000s branch of his career, linking first-wave Israeli Goa experience with a younger generation of producers and a more contemporary studio sound.
