Release context

Dance or Die belongs to Alien Project's very productive 2002 period, the same year that Aztechno Dream appeared. Rather than treating it as a completely separate chapter, it makes more sense to hear it as part of the burst of material that established Alien Project across the international full-on scene at the beginning of the decade.

The release also illustrates how fluid psytrance catalogues could be at the time: tracks, edits and editions frequently circulated through different territories and formats. For that reason the album's exact edition history can look messier than a modern digital release, but its importance is straightforward—it helped turn Alien Project from a promising Israeli act into a regular name on festival and label line-ups.
