Release context
X-Wave 2 extends DJ Miko’s collaborative project into 2003 and builds on the format established by the first X-Wave collection. Rather than centring on one fixed duo, the project works as a flexible framework for Miko to produce with different artists while keeping a recognisable identity separate from California Sunshine.
That structure fits the period particularly well. Israeli psytrance in the early 2000s was highly collaborative, and X-Wave 2 documents Miko actively participating in that environment while carrying forward the melodic instincts of his earlier work.
