Release context
*So Called Life* was released by Iboga Records in 2007 and marks Gaudium’s move into one of progressive psytrance’s most influential label catalogues. The album still belongs to the duo phase of the project, before Andreas Wennersköld later continued Gaudium as a solo act.
That makes the record important both musically and structurally. It extends the sound introduced on *Nordic Nature* while placing Gaudium inside the international Iboga network, setting up the label relationship that would carry several of the project’s later albums.
