What defined Future Music Records
Future Music Records was established in 2016 as a collaboration between FM Bookings and Iboga Records. The idea was straightforward: create a dedicated psytrance home for material in the roughly 138–144 BPM range while drawing on the artist network and infrastructure of two already established organisations.
That gives Future Music a different identity from simply being another Iboga imprint. It is closely connected to booking and artist development, and its roster mixes long-established names with newer projects built for contemporary festival dancefloors.
How Future Music Records developed
The label entered the scene with immediate access to artists already working around FM Bookings and Iboga. Its official material has highlighted names including GMS, Man With No Name, Rinkadink and Earthling, while the roster later expanded through projects such as Skizologic, Off Limits, BrightLight, Artmis and UltraVibe.
Future Music developed during a period when psytrance organisations were increasingly integrating label releases, touring and management. Its catalogue therefore works alongside an active booking network rather than as a stand-alone archive of recordings.
People, organisation & management
Future Music Records is a joint project of FM Bookings and Iboga Records. The partnership connects record releases with an international booking operation while keeping Future Music as a distinct brand with its own roster and musical emphasis.
Sound, roster & A&R direction
The label’s own description places its core range at 138–144 BPM. In practice that means energetic modern psytrance with full-on drive, rolling basslines, prominent psychedelic hooks and polished festival-scale production, while individual artists bring old-school Goa, progressive and crossover influences into that framework.
Place in psytrance history
Future Music illustrates the increasingly integrated structure of contemporary psytrance: record label, booking network and artist development functioning together rather than as separate businesses.
Scene impact & cultural reach
Its roster deliberately bridges generations. Veterans such as GMS and Man With No Name sit beside newer projects, allowing classic psychedelic approaches and modern production aesthetics to circulate within the same organisational network.
Key releases & catalogue moments
The 2016 launch established the label’s faster psytrance remit. Subsequent releases and roster development around GMS, Earthling, Rinkadink, Skizologic, Off Limits and newer projects such as UltraVibe have reinforced its role as a dedicated festival-oriented branch of the wider Iboga/FM ecosystem.
