The story behind X-Noize

X-Noize is the Israeli psytrance duo of Barak Argaman and Nadav Bonen. Emerging from Tel Aviv in the early 2000s, the pair became part of the generation that refined full-on into an increasingly polished, club-aware style without giving up the fast bass and psychedelic detail at the genre's core.

The debut album Mental Notes arrived in 2005, followed by Revolver in 2007 and a long sequence of singles, remixes and collaborations. X-Noize developed a particularly clean production signature: tightly controlled low end, bright melodic phrasing and arrangements that moved efficiently between hypnotic sections and large hooks.

Argaman and Bonen later created Major7 as a separate lower-tempo progressive project, but X-Noize did not simply disappear. New X-Noize releases and collaborations continued into 2025 and 2026, making the distinction between the two identities important. X-Noize remains the duo's faster, more classically full-on outlet.

Origins of X-Noize

X-Noize was formed in Tel Aviv by Israeli producers Barak Argaman and Nadav Bonen in the early 2000s.

The early years

The duo broke through with the 2005 album Mental Notes, establishing a polished Full-On sound built around tightly controlled low end, bright melodic phrasing and direct dance-floor structure.

How the career developed

Revolver followed in 2007, and the pair later created Major7 as a separate lower-tempo progressive project while continuing to release and collaborate as X-Noize into 2026.

X-Noize sound

X-Noize is polished Israeli full-on with rolling bass, crisp percussion, bright hooks and streamlined club structure. It is faster and more direct than the duo's Major7 project.

Place in psytrance history

X-Noize represents the mid-2000s Israeli Full-On generation that connected underground Psytrance with increasingly polished, high-impact club production.

X-Noize today
