The story behind Highwar
Highwar is the Hi-Tech Psytrance project of Highko (Heiko Quast) and Rawar (Helder Amaral). Instead of functioning only as occasional joint billing, the collaboration developed a dedicated identity, appeared in Highko’s catalogue during the 2010s and later issued its own multi-track releases through Blast Records. Created by Highko and Rawar as a dedicated collaboration joining their fast Psytrance approaches. Highwar material appeared in the mid-2010s within Highko’s Blast Records catalogue.
The project progressed to the dedicated Red Dragon release in 2021 and remained active into 2026. Highwar connects two established contributors to the European and Portuguese Hi-Tech Psytrance network and shows the scene’s shift from ad-hoc collaborations toward persistent duo projects.
