The story behind Ferbi Boys
Ferbi Boys was the separate psytrance project of Aviram Saharai and Itai Spector, two of the three members of Sesto Sento. The duo created it in the 2000s as an outlet for music that was darker, tougher and more techno-influenced than the brighter, more overtly melodic full-on sound associated with Sesto Sento.
Ferbi Boys developed a substantial catalogue instead of functioning only as a side-credit. Early tracks appeared from the beginning of the 2000s, followed by albums including Twilight Zone in 2006 and Dizzy Factory in 2008, as well as the Illegal EP in 2010. The project retained the tight production and dance-floor focus of the Sesto Sento network while shifting the mood toward heavier basslines, sharper textures and a more nocturnal character.
The project became inactive after Itai Spector withdrew from electronic-music activity around 2011. Aviram Saharai continued elsewhere, while Sesto Sento's wider history took a different path, so later activity by those related artists should not be treated as a Ferbi Boys revival. The project remains a useful part of the group's history because it reveals the darker production branch that existed alongside Sesto Sento's better-known catalogue.
