Release context
Summer Collection 2021 is a twenty-one-track Matsuri Digital compilation selected by Tsuyoshi Suzuki from the label’s recent catalogue. The concept deliberately mixes old-school Goa references with newer psychedelic trance, reflecting Matsuri’s long habit of treating its history as something to reinterpret rather than simply archive.
The track list reinforces that idea by placing newer material alongside remixes and revisited work connected with Transwave, California Sunshine, Astral Projection, Sandman, Etnica and other long-standing names. For Suzuki, the compilation functions as a curator’s view of how Matsuri’s original lineage can sit beside contemporary production without turning into nostalgia alone.
