Release context
Released in December 2023, The Four Seasons is a compact concept release built around one simple idea: summer, autumn, winter and spring each get their own track. Talamasca had already spent more than two decades making full-on psytrance by this point, so the appeal here is less about introducing the project and more about seeing Cédric Dassulle impose a clear narrative shape on a short release.
The project also sits in an interesting stretch of Talamasca's catalogue. After the pandemic-era chill-out detour Music For Travel Minds in 2021, this EP returned to dancefloor-focused material while keeping an explicitly visual, conceptual frame. Talamasca's own discography notes that he created visuals to accompany the pieces, reinforcing the idea that this was conceived as a four-part audio-visual set rather than four unrelated singles.
