Release context
Space Angel EP continues Subcouds’ short but important run through the mid-1990s Swedish Goa scene. Released by Psychic Deli Records in 1997, it follows Greenflow and shows the duo still active before Rickard Berglöf later moved into the project that became Vibrasphere.
That chronology makes the EP useful beyond its own two tracks. Subcouds sits close to the point where Sweden’s early Goa sound began opening toward the more progressive approach that would become associated with Scandinavian trance in the following years, and Space Angel belongs squarely to that transitional period.
