Release context
Sonic Species is Joe Markendale's UK psytrance project. The debut album established a melodic, high-energy sound, while later releases gradually broadened the production palette through singles, collaborations and a long gap before the next major album statement.
Within Sonic Species's catalogue, Trance Is Life / Eternal sits between Unleash The Beat (2012) and Numinous (2017). That position makes the ep useful for hearing how the project was changing across that period rather than treating it as an isolated entry.
