Release context
*Global Warning* was released by Nutek Records in 2007 and begins one of the most important label relationships in Mekkanikka’s catalogue. Nutek’s own artist history lists the album among the core releases that helped define the project’s sound during this period.
By then Mekkanikka had developed a style built around rolling basslines, strong rhythmic drive and bright psychedelic detail. *Global Warning* captures that sound at the point where the project was becoming increasingly associated with large festival dancefloors and international touring.
