Release context
Laughing Buddha is Jez Van Kampen's UK psytrance project, with roots in the early British psychedelic scene and a later catalogue strongly associated with Nano Records. Collaboration has become central to the project, linking his solo tracks to artists such as Avalon, Mandala, Space Tribe and Killerwatts.
Outside The Box is part of Laughing Buddha's collaboration-heavy Nano period, when standalone singles often carried as much weight as albums. The release sits within a catalogue where recurring partnerships and festival-focused tracks gradually became the main way new material was introduced.
