Release context
Laughing Buddha is Jez Van Kampen's UK psytrance project, with roots in the early British psychedelic scene and a later catalogue strongly associated with Nano Records. Collaboration has become central to the project, linking his solo tracks to artists such as Avalon, Mandala, Space Tribe and Killerwatts.
Magik - Rainforest (Laughing Buddha Remix) places Laughing Buddha in the remix network surrounding Nano-era psytrance. Reworking other artists' material, and having his own tracks reworked in return, became one of the ways Jez Van Kampen's catalogue stayed connected to the wider scene between album projects.
