Release context
Koxbox belongs to the first wave of Scandinavian psychedelic trance, with a catalogue that reaches back to the early 1990s. The project became known for taking the looseness and experimentation of early Goa trance into stranger, more elastic territory rather than settling into a single formula.
Acid Vol.3 / Birdy comes from Koxbox's formative 1990s period, when the project was helping stretch early Goa trance into something more unpredictable and rhythmically strange. In catalogue terms, it belongs to the material that established Koxbox before the later remixes and retrospective editions began revisiting those ideas.
