Release context
*The Gathering* is Infected Mushroom’s 1999 debut album and the starting point of one of psytrance’s most unusual long-term careers. Released through YoYo Records, the nine-track record captures Erez Eisen and Amit Duvdevani while the project was still closely tied to Goa and psychedelic trance.
That early context is important because the duo would later move through rock, breakbeat, electro and other forms of electronic music without abandoning its psychedelic roots. *The Gathering* shows the project before that expansion, with the core production partnership already firmly in place.
