Release context
Mutation is the debut Alien Art single, released by Iboga Records in 2022. The project brings together two already experienced producers, so the title marks the beginning of a new collaboration rather than the first professional release for either person involved.
That distinction matters when reading the later Alpha Centauri album. Mutation is the point where Alien Art begins establishing its own sonic and visual identity inside the Iboga catalogue, giving the partnership a clean starting line separate from the artists' previous work.
