Release context

Freestyle is an early Xerox album from 1999, released before Moshe Keinan's later partnership with Illumination became the dominant frame for much of his catalogue. The record belongs to the late Goa-to-psytrance transition, when Israeli producers were moving toward harder, more compact structures without abandoning psychedelic detail.

Seen from later in Xerox's career, Freestyle is valuable because it shows the project before the polished HOMmega era. The collaborations and varied track construction reflect a scene still experimenting with what the next generation of psytrance would sound like, making it a useful bridge between older Goa language and the darker full-on direction Xerox would later help define.
