Release context
Chameleon EP continues Unknown Reality into 2026 and sits within a particularly active period for the project. By then Ralph K. Freund had been releasing under the name for well over a decade, so the EP is part of an established ambient and experimental catalogue rather than a new side project.
The title also suits the broader role of Unknown Reality in Freund’s work. The project has always allowed him to move between live instrumentation, modular electronics, field recordings and softer rhythmic structures without the expectations attached to his psytrance identities, and Chameleon keeps that flexibility at the centre.
