Release context
Transwave was formed by Christophe Drouillet and Frédéric Holyszewski and became one of the key French Goa-trance projects of the mid-1990s. Its releases are closely associated with the fast-moving period when the European psychedelic scene was developing its own labels, festivals and production language.
Within Transwave's catalogue, Land Of Freedom sits between Helium (1996) and Phototropic (1996). That position makes the ep useful for hearing how the project was changing across that period rather than treating it as an isolated entry.
