Release context
Outsider is Phanatic's second album for Utopia Records and follows the 2006 debut In My Head. The quick two-year progression shows Kfir Lankry moving from an introductory full-length into a more established phase of the project while the melodic Israeli full-on sound was still central to the international festival circuit.
Keeping the album on Utopia also gives the early Phanatic catalogue a clear continuity. Rather than using a label move to signal a reset, Outsider builds directly from the identity established on the debut and helps explain how Phanatic became a regular name across the late-2000s psytrance scene.
