Release context
Mekkanikka is Nicolas Oesch's long-running psychedelic trance project, shaped by years of touring and collaboration across the international scene. His later catalogue leans heavily on collaborative studio work, with artists such as Mad Maxx, Ajja, Space Tribe and Stryker repeatedly crossing into Mekkanikka releases.
Monkeys Get Drunk belongs to Mekkanikka's active early-2020s run, when Nicolas Oesch was releasing a steady flow of singles around the larger Atom Smasher project. The material reflects a catalogue shaped as much by international collaboration and touring relationships as by a traditional album cycle.
