Release context
Open Ancient Eyes is a 2014 Kalya Scintilla album on Merkaba Music and follows Dance the Spiral Never Ending in the project's early full-length sequence. By this stage the combination of electronic bass production, organic percussion and ritual-minded imagery was no longer an experiment but a recognisable part of Kalya Scintilla's identity.
The album develops that world rather than abandoning it for a new trend. Its place in the catalogue is therefore one of deepening rather than reinvention, expanding the project's spiritual and cinematic framing while keeping the physical, dance-oriented side of the music intact.
