Release context
Sweep Dreams is the first full-length album by Illuminus, the Swedish duo of Dennis Tapper and Magnus Holte. The project gave Tapper, best known for Hux Flux, a separate space for downtempo, dub and ambient work alongside Holte’s flute and production contributions.
That background is central to the album. Sweep Dreams is not simply a slower Hux Flux record; it establishes Illuminus as a distinct project with its own musical identity. Released in 2015, it also shows how far the Scandinavian psychedelic scene could stretch beyond dancefloor psytrance while retaining many of the same musicians and creative networks.
