Release context
The Afterburner EP is one of the key Flying Rhino-era Green Nuns releases from 1995, when the UK Goa scene was still being defined through a rapid exchange of singles, compilation tracks and live-tested material.
Green Nuns of the Revolution were part of the first wave of UK Goa trance, with Dick Trevor at the centre of a project that mixed psychedelic sequencing with a rougher, more irreverent club sensibility than much of the era's polished trance. Their mid-1990s singles and EPs are important because they capture the group before and around the period that produced their album Rock Bitch Mafia, when Flying Rhino, TIP and the wider UK Goa network were still defining the sound in real time.
