Green Nunions EP

Green Nuns of the Revolution · Flying Rhino Records

Release context

Green Nunions appeared in 1998, after Green Nuns of the Revolution had already established their reputation through earlier singles and the Rock Bitch Mafia period. It belongs to the later edge of the group's original run rather than their formative phase.

Green Nuns of the Revolution were part of the first wave of UK Goa trance, with Dick Trevor at the centre of a project that mixed psychedelic sequencing with a rougher, more irreverent club sensibility than much of the era's polished trance. Their mid-1990s singles and EPs are important because they capture the group before and around the period that produced their album Rock Bitch Mafia, when Flying Rhino, TIP and the wider UK Goa network were still defining the sound in real time.
