Release context
Cosmosis is Bill Halsey's UK psychedelic trance project and an important part of the late-1990s Goa scene. The early albums combine melodic writing with a funkier rhythmic sensibility, documenting the point where classic Goa trance was beginning to evolve toward the fuller production of the next decade.
Within Cosmosis's catalogue, Synergy sits between Cosmology (1996) and Intergalactic (2000). That position makes the album useful for hearing how the project was changing across that period rather than treating it as an isolated entry.
