Astral Projection are one of the central projects in the history of Israeli Goa trance. Avi Nissim and Lior Perlmutter helped establish the melodic, tightly produced sound that became internationally identified with the Israeli scene during the 1990s, and the project has continued to revisit that language across later decades.
Within Astral Projection's catalogue, Amen sits between Another World (1999) and Astral Projection & Oforia - The Highest Mountain (2022). That position makes the album useful for hearing how the project was changing across that period rather than treating it as an isolated entry.
